Our new, six-week Pilates Cross Training series kicks off on March 15 at Bend Pilates. Join us on Tuesdays at 8 a.m. for dynamic and specific cross training taught by Emma, who is a professional mountain biker and Pilates instructor.
Cross training is well known to help people of all athletic abilities enjoy their favorite sports even more through improved performance and reduced injury, and our Pilates Cross Training series improves upon classic cross fit training by focusing on lateral motion strengthening. The perpetual forward movement of sports like running, hiking, skiing and cycling can increase the risk of repetitive strain-based injuries like iliotibial band syndrome (Runner’s Knee), plantar fasciitis and hamstring pain.
Our Pilates Cross Training series is specifically designed to strengthen the muscles that perform lateral movements by returning length to the hips and lower-back flexors and well as enhance the dynamic stability of knees and ankles. This series provides a solid foundation to your spring sport training to help ensure a long season of ticking off goals with a balanced and healthy body.
