Our popular Foam Roller Workshop is back on Saturday, May 24, from 10 to 11:30 a.m! We’ll teach you how to properly use a foam roller to reduce tightness and increase flexibility, while giving you great core strengthening exercises to use at home. Using a foam roller offers many of the same benefits as massage, and best of all, you can learn to use one on your own any time you like!
Foam rollers are similar to massage because they break down soft tissue adhesions and scar tissue while increasing blood flow and circulation to the soft tissues. The superficial fascia is a soft connective tissue located just below the skin. It wraps and connects the muscles, bones, nerves and blood vessels of the body, literally connecting every cell in our bodies. For various reasons, the fascia and underlying muscle can become stuck together, and these adhesions result in restricted movement, and can cause pain, soreness and reduce flexibility. Gentle, sustained pressure under traction on soft tissue results in softening and lengthening, helping to release the fascia, break down scar tissue and the adhesions between the skin, muscles and bones.
You will leave this 90-minute workshop with a whole new sense of freedom, and with the proper technique to incorporate regular foam roller use into your wellness routine. Cost is only $10 per person and space is limited. Reserve your spot online now, or by calling us at 541.647.0876 or by emailing us. Plan on coming? RSVP on Facebook and invite your friends!
