Instructor Training at Bend Pilates

If you are ready for a highly satisfying career and to really make a difference in people’s lives, this is the place for you. Exceptional instructors start with a top notch education and ongoing career support. Balanced Body is the global leader in Pilates instructor education and equipment production. The Balanced Body program is modular and taught in progression to help you focus on the material of each course and build on concepts being taught. We offer the full curriculum (Mat, Reformer and Apparatus) over the course of approximately one year – give or take – so you can study, practice and apply your education in a methodical process.

Not all certifications are created equal. Choose one that is respected throughout the industry and that gives you the skills, confidence, and has been the gold standard in education over 25 years. Contact Deb Bowen, Master Pilates Instructor and Balanced Body educator for more details or click on this link to register for an upcoming course.

Balanced Body Education brings the best of movement science to movement education. With a strong focus on quality of movement and teaching students how to apply foundational principles to client practice and class development. You can mix and match the modules to fit your needs but keep in mind the best Pilates education you can get is to become comprehensively certified. While learning the curriculum, each student is encouraged to find their own unique teaching voice.

You can satisfy your personal practice, observation, and practice teaching hours at Bend Pilates through our mentoring program.

WHEN CAN I TEACH?

With each Mat and Reformer course offering (Mat 1, 2, 3, Reformer 1, 2 & 3) you may be able to student teach and start working at whatever level you are at. You will not be a fully certified Pilates Mat or Reformer instructor until you have completed all of the Balanced Body course work, practice hours, and successfully complete your practical and written final tests.

HOW CAN I GET OBSERVATION HOURS IN?

You can observe any class offered at Bend Pilates at no charge. Please come in and sit quietly to the side. Write down any questions you may have and we can address then during mentoring hours. You may observe some online classes from a certified instructor but keep in mind in-person is best.

CAN I START MY TRAINING WITH REFORMER 1?

You can but in our experience we don’t think this is the way to approach the training process. We recommend taking Movement Principles and the Mat training prior to reformer. You will learn the thread of information in Mat that is fundamental to all of the Pilates work.
